Kraken GM Takes a Shot at Shane Wright After Tough Rookie Season
Kraken GM, Ron Francis, had some choice words for 2022 4th overall pick Shane Wright.
Ron Francis Takes a Shot at Shane Wright After Tough Rookie Season
Shane Wright was the projected 2022 first-overall pick all the way up until draft night where he fell to 4th overall in the hands of the Kraken. While this was unfortunate for Wright, the Kraken got a good player who they believe can work in tandem with 2021 2nd overall pick Matty Beniers.
Wright struggled this past season playing on four different teams. He was most productive with Windsor in the OHL but after they got swept in the first round, he went back to Coachella Valley of the AHL where they are still fighting for the Calder Cup.
While many expected Wright to spend the entire season in the NHL this year, Seattle decided it was better for Wright to spend time all over the place this season.
Francis' Shots
On Shane Wright, Kraken GM Ron Francis said the following:
"It's going to come down to Shane and how hard he works in the summertime"
This is a clear shot at Wright because Francis may not have been satisfied with how hard Wright worked last summer resulting in his lackluster first season after being drafted.
The question now is whether or not Shane Wright will put in the work to become a superstar NHLer or will he break down and turn into a bust.
