NHL fanbases often poke fun at one another, especially rival teams. It's part of what makes the game fun, but these two fans may have taken things to the next level. Having gone viral on social media today following an incident in last night's game, these two fans may have proven that hating has no limits.
An Expensive Joke
Leafs fans and Canadiens fans often give each other a hard time on social media or at games simply for rooting for their rival. It's part of what makes hockey so special, and can make things interesting come playoff time. This duo of fans however, have taken their efforts to the next level.
Two fans wearing Florida Panthers jerseys were caught on camera during last nights game, which by itself wouldn't raise any eyebrows. However, fans noticed that the same two fans who sported Panthers jerseys last night, were wearing Lightning jerseys during the last series. From there, Internet detectives did the heavy lifting, and found that this father and daughter duo have done this same gag with at least seven other teams at Leafs games.
The pair happen to be Montreal Canadiens fans, and have used their shared hate of the Leafs as an excuse to not only root for the away team, but to spend time with one another.
«That's why we decided, Ok, we'll cheer for the Habs and then whoever the Leafs are playing against as our two favourite teams.'»
One thing is certain, if the Leafs continue their playoff push, these two fans will be there.
