After a season that was full of disappointment for the Montreal Canadiens, and a year of set backs for Carey Price, we finally got to see him suit up on Friday night against the New York Islanders. This ultimately ended up being a loss for the Canadiens, which gave Price an 0-1 record, but it was amazing to see him back in action!
At today's press conference, Price was asked if people had been reaching out to him about playing again, and he mentioned that Sidney Crosby reached out to mention it was good to see him back out there.
Very classy move by Sidney, reaching out to an opponent, but Crosby and Price have actually been teammates a few times now. They were teammates on the Gold medal winning 2014 Olympic team in Sochi, and also on the 2016 Gold medal winning team at the World Cup. So while they've never played on the same team in the NHL, they've definitely spent some time together and have a great respect for one another.
You can tell Price commands a lot of respect amongst the league as Ovechkin gave props on Saturday night for Price as well.
