Why? Because a call missed by the officials might have cost them the victory.
If you weren't watching, Mattias Ekholm took a high-stick to the face late in the third period.
Here's a video with sufficient evidence to convince even a Golden Knights fan:
There's no denying that a penalty should have been called on that play.
Today, during the Oilers' exit interviews, we saw the visible consequences of the blow on Ekholm:
The Oilers' power play has been simply incredible all year long. Every time the PP unit stepped on the ice, you knew that something was about to happen.
With a two-goal deficit, the Oilers would've been in a good position to make a comeback and win the game.
This mistake will stay a long time in players and fans' memories.
Do you believe it cost the Oilers their victory?
As seen on Blade of Steel - Edmonton Oilers still upset about non-call that potentially cost them their playoff lives, should they be though?
