The Toronto Maple Leafs have had a solid start to the 2023-24 season, but unfortunately, they've not hit top gear yet, and to do that, they need to make some big moves.

Toronto with two major needs ahead of the trade deadline

While the forward group isn't the deepest, Toronto have the talent to succeed, but unfortunately, the same can't be said for their blue line and goaltending, which have been in major need of an upgrade all season long.

The team has constantly been linked to several players over the course of the past three months, and with some assets ready to be moved, GM Brad Treliving is reportedly taking scouting upon himself.

Brad Treliving spotted in Buffalo

Despite the horrendous weather over the weekend, Brad Treliving, the GM of the Maple Leafs was spotted taking in the Sabres vs. Canucks game, potentially scouting some deadline acquisitions.

"There was bad weather in Buffalo we all know the story," said Elliotte Friedman on the 32 Thoughts Podcast. "Brad Treliving made a trip on Saturday afternoon to go see the Sabres and the Canucks."

That report comes from Elliotte Friedman, and although it's not clear which players he is after, this is another signal that Toronto is ready to make some big moves ahead of the trade deadline.
