In a surprising move unveiled by CapFriendly Transactions, late last night the Toronto Maple Leafs removed Wayne Simmonds from their active NHL roster. Two weeks ago Wayne Simmonds took part in his 1000th NHL game, something Elliotte Friedman claimed the Maple Leafs were committed to getting SImmonds to.
But the move brought with it many different questions. If this is a COVID related move their is usually a corresponding announcement.
During last night's post game press conference the Leafs were unwilling to share details. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
