During COVID to recover lost revenue the NHL allowed ads on helmets to help recoup some lost money, which seemed like a fair compromise, but never did we hope that those ads would ever make it onto the jerseys.
Today the Minnesota Wild announced that they would be making a chance to their jerseys for next season and it unfortunately has an advertisement on the front if it.
The Wild made the announcement on their twitter page that they will be the first NHL team to add a ''sponsor'' to their jerseys.
This sponsor is ''TRIA Orthotics'' and the patch is dead smack on the front, which has not sat well with fans.
🤩 It's official! 🤩 The threads are getting some extra 🧵
Starting this '22-23 season, our first-ever jersey patch partners are @TRIAOrthopedics!

While this might just be a small patch right now on one teams jersey, it's a very slippery slope to what could become a European jersey.
