Last season the league experimented with helmet ads, which didn't look too bad, they were totally acceptable, and brought in a lot of money for the NHL teams.
Now this season we are starting to see teams reveal ads on the front of their jerseys, and well, fans are NOT happy about it.
Lot's of these ads have been very ugly and stand out like a sore thumb. The Edmonton Oilers are the only team who made a statement that they would not be adding any advertising to their jerseys, and it officially made them a favourite team in the NHL.
The Montreal Canadiens recently released their jersey with the new ad on it, and the blue behind the RBC logo looks awful.
This fan took it upon himself to improve the logo and while we are still not fans of having a logo on the jersey, this looks a lot more acceptable and I will admit, if this was the version on the jersey, I wouldn't complain ..... as much.
Poor branding negociation from the Montreal Canadiens. They should've ask for a more integrated logo all white or nothing. The addition of light blue + yellow is not good. pic.twitter.com/IjqSEcLnxr houde.collector (@sebhoud) September 12, 2022
