Oilers interested in acquiring veteran winger

The Edmonton Oilers still have a few holes in their roster, especially defending 5 on 5, but it appears the Oilers trade dealing approach might be to try and outscore their problems. Edmonton news reporter Jim Matheson believes the Oilers are exploring a trade for Phil Kessel.
With Dylan Holloway still months away from returning to the action it appears the Oilers would like to add the two time Cup winner, especially if Arizona is willing to retain 50% of his contract.
Kessel is an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season and would only require $3,400,000 in cap space if Arizona were to retain.
Kessel has struggled while in Arizona, but could flourish with the right opportunity. The 34 year old has 17 points in 29 games including 5 goals.
Kessel is likely to be a hot commodity at the deadline and could be one of the biggest rentals when players begin to move.
