The National Hockey League and their teams are always looking for new forms of revenue for the league, and recently it was announced that the NHL is no longer among the Big 4 in terms of revenue compared to other sports leagues.
Last season we saw teams bring in ads on helmets, and this season we are seeing the first form of ads on jerseys, which no fan is a fan of, especially when you see what European teams jerseys look like.
But one brave, beautiful team has refused to put these ads on their jersey's and they may have just became a lot of peoples second favourite team in the league.
According to NHL Breakers on Instagram, the Edmonton Oilers have refused multiple offers from potential sponsors to buy the ad space on the jersey.
The hockey jersey has always been a sacred thing, and while a majority of the teams in the NHL are beginning to sell off pieces of it for additional revenue, the Oilers are sticking to the sacredness of the jersey.
