Patrick Kane Lashes Out on Referee During Game and Suffers the Consequences
Last night, the Detroit Red Wings beat the Anaheim Ducks 3-2 in regulation time. During the game, a sequence involving Patrick Kane is making rounds on the web.
Kane Loses it Towards a Referee and Suffers the Consequences
Patrick Kane, who joined the Detroit Red Wings a month ago, showed last night that even if he missed the start of the season, he hasn't lost his passion.
In the second period, Ross Johnston got in Kane's space and didn't let him go. He poked him with his stick, getting Kane out of the play as the puck had gone the other way. He continued for a few seconds and followed Kane to the Wings' bench. There, he completely put his arm around his head, making him completely at his mercy, right in front of the referee, who didn't call a penalty on the play.
Kane lashed out on the referee and said something that the ref didn't want to hear.
There's not doubt that Johnston should've been penalized, but instead, Kane got a minor penalty for unsportmanlike conduct.
