Last season, Igor Shesterkin was the best goaltender in the National Hockey League, he put up incredible numbers and was a huge reason on why the New York Rangers were as competitive as they were.
This season he is still preforming very well, but his godly numbers from last season have come back to earth.
On Friday night the Colorado Avalanche hosted the New York Rangers, in what could just possibly be a Stanley Cup finals preview, which ended with the Rangers winning 2-1 in overtime over the injury plagued Avalanche.
One of the biggest highlights of the game was a save Shesterkin made on Cale Makar, where he flashed the glove after. This extra little swagger by Shesterkin did not sit well with Makar, who called him out in a post-game interview:
I mean he's their goalie is all about the show so, went straight in his glove and just, nice little windmill there
Both teams are currently fighting to hold onto their playoffs spots, and it will be interesting to see these two stars meet in a playoff round.
