Sunday night the Toronto Maple Leafs played the Anaheim Ducks, and despite having a 3-1 lead in the game, they lost 4-3. The Ducks are currently in last place and losing to teams at the bottom of the standings has been about the only consistent thing for the Maple Leafs so far this season.

During the game in the 3rd period, at a TV timeout, we saw Mitch Marner throw a tantrum, break his stick and head to the locker room.

Marner had two very back turnovers, which ended up Anaheim goals, head coach Sheldon Keefe took him off the first line and benched him for one shift.

Marner was targeted by the coach in his speech to the team here, and it didn't sit well with him, hence the tantrum.

When the media asked Marner about the situation after, he had this to say:

Sometimes you gotta take some frustration out, and that's how you do it. I'm a passionate player out there... I put a lot on my shoulders, put a lot of pressure on myself, and I wasn't happy with that second turnover especially.

The issue though, the turnover was quite awhile before that, so why did he let out his 'frustration' at that point? He wasn't happy about getting taken off the top line, not the giveaways, so are frustrations between Marner and Keefe starting to build?

Are the Maple Leafs in serious trouble?
