Last night the New Jersey Devils hosted the Toronto Maple Leafs in what they were hoping would be their 14th straight win.
Unfortunately for them, the hockey gods were not with them as they had not 1, not 2, but 3 disallowed goals. One could definitely make the argument that the first one should have counted, possibly the second, but the third was definitely a no-goal. But despite this, after the third disallowed goal, fans got pretty upset.
With just over 11 minutes left in the game, the New Jersey Devils fans started throwing garbage onto the ice.
You can see Marner almost get hit with something, then immediately throw a thumbs up in the air at the crowd. Or may have flipped them the bird, but let's keep it PG and assume it's a thumbs up.
After the game, Marner had this to say:
It's full beers. It's dangerous. We're not looking for that. We're not seeing it coming. Dodge a couple ... It's a dangerous thing. I dont know why it's our fault ... they're throwing it to try and hit us. It's the first ive ever seen
