By now, everyone who follows hockey should know the name Connor Bedard. the 17 year old is projected to go 1st overall in the upcoming 2023 NHL Entry draft, and is widely discussed as being the next NHL Franchise player.
Bedard played in 62 games this year for the Regina Pats in the WHL and scored an incredible 51 goals and 100 points.
When the World Juniors started, Bedard was a lock for team Canada. Thus far in the tournament, Bedard has scored 3 goals and 7 points in 4 games, helping Canada to an undefeated record so far.
But even though he has been lightning the scoresheet up in the tournament, he did not see much action in the game against Team Finland for the battle of the top division spot.
In the final 40 minutes of the game, Bedard only saw 4 minutes of ice time. Head coach Dave Cameron had this to say on the matter:
I went with the best tonight (Bedard was not in our best tonight, in my opinion). The numerous penalties didn't help either. Still, Bedard had a tough game in his zone
