While the Toronto Maple Leafs for years now have been loaded upfront on the forward ranks, their defence has always been called into question when the team fizzles out in high pressure games.
The Maple Leafs just learned that defenceman Jake Muzzin is out for awhile and possibly the entire season, so they need to find a replacement for him.
It has now been rumoured that the Maple Leafs are interested in the 28-year old defenceman in Seattle, Carson Soucy.
In 2021, Soucy was claimed by the Seattle Kraken in the expansion draft from the Minnesota Wild and has played very in Seattle.
Soucy is a reliable two-way defenceman who could help stabilize the Maple Leafs back end.
