Over the past 3 weeks, the University of Michigan hockey team has been dealing with quite a few illnesses on the team, so many that they have not had a completely healthy team in weeks.
Defenceman Steven Holtz who is a junior has an illness which has put him into the hospital.
Holtz was having some issues breathing, and was moved to intensive care and given a ventilator to help with his breathing.
His mother Sylvia made a social media post giving a quick update for her son:
In need of a really big prayer chain for my son Steven Holtz without too much detail he is in ICU at UofM on a ventilator. He was admitted last night with a virus and complications. Please keep him in your prayers. Our family will be forever grateful. There is nothing more powerful than prayer.
There has been no confirmation on what type of illness is affecting this hockey team right now, but our thoughts and prayers are currently going out for Holtz to get healthy.
