If you've been following the NHL over the past two days, chances are that you're aware of the ongoing Pierre-Luc Dubois trade saga. While it's been widely reported that his dream destination is his home city of Montreal, it looks like Los Angeles is on the verge of acquiring him.
Kings to Trade Byfield
The most recent update in the ongoing PLD trade saga has revealed a major new asset in the trade. It now looks like former 2nd overall pick, Quinton Byfield, will be a part of the package going back to Winnipeg.
"The Los Angeles Kings acquiring Dubois would invariably mean Quinton Byfield being a part of the package."
- Eric Stephens
While it seems like the return for Dubois just keeps getting bigger and bigger, L.A. knew they'd have to pay a hefty price to get the center.
Full Trade Details
With the addition of Byfield to the package, the full PLD trade now looks something like this.
The trade has yet to be completed due to ongoing extension negotiations between Dubois' camp and the Kings' front office, but progress is being made. It looks like Dubois will be a member of the Kings in the next few days.
