The NHL Stanley Cup watch parties have mostly been positive, with only a few incidents of public intoxication. However, during an Edmonton Oilers watch party last Saturday, a 20-year-old male named Jordan Reilly Fouquette stabbed two people, causing a very scary situation.
After failing to comply with police orders and still in possession of his knife, Fouquette was shot by Edmonton police who responded to the stabbings. He was later tended to for his injuries and charged with two counts of aggravated assault and one count of possession of a dangerous weapon to the public.
"Around 9:20 p.m., as the Oilers faced off against the Kings in Los Angeles, police were called to 101 Street and 103A Avenue, one block away from Ice District watch parties. Police were told that multiple people had been stabbed.
"Upon arrival, responding officers located an injured man and woman and a suspect brandishing a knife," EPS said the next morning.
"The suspect would not comply with police direction and an officer subsequently discharged their firearm and struck the suspect." The shooting was recorded by bystanders.
The two people who were stabbed were in "stable" condition, police said on Wednesday. Fouquette is due in court May 15.

Authorities will also reinforce barricades to prevent trampling after a city employee broke their ankle as a result of a crowd crush on Saturday.
Starting Wednesday, watch parties around Rogers Place will be allowed to fans 18 years or older. Fans of all ages can attend attend a "family-friendly viewing party experience" down the road at Sir Winston Churchill Square.
