After nine great seasons in the National Hockey League, playing on Tampa Bay Lightning, Ottawa Senators, Carolina Hurricanes and Montreal Canadiens, Cedric Paquette has made the decision to leave the NHL and head overseas to play in the KHL with Dinamo Minsk.
Paquette was a member of the 2019-20 Tampa Bay Lightning when they won the Stanley Cup, scoring 3 points in their 25 game playoff run.
Paquette was drafted 101st overall back in 2012 by the Lightning and had a very successful NHL career. Paquette managed to get into 448 games where he scored 51 goals and 95 points.
To take a little shot at another player in the draft, Paquette who was drafted 100 spots after the first overall selection (Nail Yakupov) managed to play in 98 more games than the first overall selection.
I will forever judge him though for putting shrimp in a poutine and eating it out of the Stanley Cup.
