Tension Grows Between Vladimir Tarasenko and Ottawa Media After Nasty First Interview
Vladimir Tarasenko's tenure in Ottawa is already off to a rocky start and he hasn't even touched the ice yet. Recently Tarasenko signed a one-year five million dollar deal to play with the Senators. A his introductory press conference things went off the rails.
Press Conference Gone Wrong
On Tuesday Tarasenko spoke with the Ottawa media for the first time. Things started off fine with standard questions for a new player. Eventually though part way through the interview Tarasenko got annoyed saying:
I think I'm answering the same question for the third time right now.
This led to an awkward rest of the interview. Tarasenko chose to come to Ottawa which means he will have to get used to the tougher Canadian market media. Up until this point Tarasenko has not played in Canada. He did recently play in New York which is a big market known for tough media but hockey generally gets let off the easiest of the major sports teams there.
