The Lightning Offers Long-Term Contract to One of Their Most Important Players
It has just been confirmed on social media that the Tampa Bay Lightning have made an offer to one of their core players.
The Lightning have Offered a Long-Term Contract to One of Their Most Important Players
Alex Killorn may not be the best player on the Bolts, but he's one of the most tenacious. His team can count on him in important moments, and he can be used in any situation.
He has just received a long-term offer, with a low average annual value (AAV), from the team that drafted him in 2007.
As reported by Puck Empire:
"The #Lightning 🇺🇸 have made a long-term contract extension offer to Alex Killorn 🇨🇦, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. The offer has a low average annual value (AAV).
Killorn, 33, had 27 goals and 64 points in 82 games played with Tampa Bay last season.
He has been with Tampa Bay since being drafted 77th overall in 2007 and has played 805 games with the franchise. During his time with the team, he has scored 198 goals and 466 points, while also winning two Stanley Cups."
Back when the NHL held its Expansion Draft for the Seattle Kraken, Killorn was not protected by his team, and he made it clear: he wouldn't play anywhere else but Tampa. This was just after they won two straight Stanley Cups, but it still shows how much he loves it there and doesn't want to move.
If he wants to stay in Tampa in the long run, he'll probably accept the offer.
Do you think he'll accept?
