It has been widely speculated that Ovechkin has faked a COVID-positive test to get out of the All Star game this weekend. What many didn't know is that Ovechkin actually asked to play in this game and was very excited to be part of the festivities this year. Ovechkin really wants to let his son see him play at the top of his game and this was a great weekend for family fun and to see his dad play with and against some of the best in the game.
Alex's wife Nastya, was on a flight over from Moscow to join her husband when she found out the news about Ovi going into quarantine.
Nastya wrote on her Instagram Story which was translated by RMNB's Igor Kleyner. «I arrived in Washington. While I was in the air, my husband ended up in quarantine.»
«I cooked borscht, cutlets, and in the morning I am flying back to Moscow on the same airplane without even seeing him.»
She spent 20 hours on a plane to not even get to see her husband. Not a great 48 hours for Nastya.
So for all those people getting upset on social media and stating that Ovechkin simply faked this test to get out of the all-star game, you are very wrong. Atleast this year.
