The Clothing brand Nike has decided to permanently end their sponsorship of Hockey Canada, per Sportsnet:
This of course being due to the recent scandals that have landed Hockey Canada in hot water, it's clear that these brands will not work with an organization as troubled as Hockey Canada is.
Nike Will Still Provide Team Canada with Equipment
A Nike representative sent the following statement to CTV News:
«Nike is no longer a sponsor of Hockey Canada, We will continue to provide on-ice product for Hockey Canada athletes as part of our partnership with the International Ice Hockey Federation, but our individual partnership with the federation has ended.»
Hockey Canada released the following statement:
«Hockey Canada is appreciative of the longstanding partnership it had with Nike for over two decades and respects their decision not to continue as a Hockey Canada partner.»
Nike joins other big companies such as Scotiabank, Chevrolet, Canadian Tire and Tim Hortons who are no longer sponsoring Hockey Canada.
