Vegas Roasts the San Jose Sharks for Siding with Dallas Stars
The Vegas Golden Knights haven't been in the NHL long, but they've managed to build up some good rivalries over that short period of time. One of those rivalries was taken to a new level after the team eliminated the Dallas Stars from the playoffs.
The Nights, Stars, and Sharks
When it was announced that the Vegas Golden Knights would meet the Dallas Stars in the Western Conference Final, the San Jose Sharks jumped on the Stars bandwagon, rooting for them to beat the team the Sharks have had some great playoff battles with. San Jose went as far as to post on Twitter that they were in a "Stars alliance." Vegas would, of course, go on to beat the Stars in 6 games, and the Golden Knights Twitter account posted this great meme regarding San Jose following the elimination game.
Attempted Comeback
The Sharks did have a response for the Golden Knights, posting a meme that made reference to the 2019 playoffs where San Jose was down 3-0 in game 7 against the Knights. A 5 minute major penalty called on Vegas led to San Jose taking a 4-3 lead in the game, and then winning it in overtime. In total, the Sharks scored four goals in four minutes.
