The owner has revealed what he thinks will happen with Aho and the Hurricanes in the near future attempting to shut down rumors he will leave the team.
Hurricanes Owner Dundon Gives Update on Aho's Contract
Sebastian Aho is the closest thing the Carolina Hurricanes have to a superstar. This past season was a down year by Aho's standards with 36 goals and 67 points in 75 games.
Since 2018-19, Aho ranks 22nd in total points and 8th in total goals behind only Auston Matthews, Leon Draisaitl, Connor McDavid, David Pastrnak, Alex Ovechkin, Kyle Connor, and Mikko Rantanen.
Due to his consistency, he is due for a big payday. His last contract was an offer sheet signed that would have sent him to Montreal if the Hurricanes did not match.
Hurricanes owner, Tom Dundon, spoke on the issue of Aho's contract which expires in 2024.

With Dundon assuring that he wants Aho in Carolina, we can expect to see a contract this summer and if not signed this summer, maybe start to consider what he could get on the open market.
He has consistently been the Hurricanes' best forward and because of this, he will be paid like it, most likely receiving a contract of over $10 million for 8 years length. Potentially even $11 million if he believes he could get that.
