Video Emerges Proving John Tortorella Has Gone Soft
A new video has been going viral around hockey social media circles. The video shows the Philadelphia Flyers participating in events during practice that have led people to think John Tortorella has become a softer head coach. However, a decision by the veteran head coach made around the same time reaffirmed his controversial status.
Video Emerges Showing A Softer Side Of Tortorella's Coaching Style
A video from today's practice for the Philadelphia Flyers shows the team imitating a train by linking up with their hockey sticks.
Choochoo! All aboard the Torts Express
These types of events are not typical for a team coached by John Tortorella. Torts has always been known as a coach who does not like to mess around and takes winning very seriously. In this moment though the team was allowed to have some fun. Not long after the no-fun side of Tortorella re-emerged.
Tortorella Scratches Player In His Return Home
On the same afternoon that the Flyers were clowning around on the ice head coach John Tortorella re-affirmed why he is a controversial coach to play for. It was announced that forward Bobby Brink would be scratched even though he was supposed to have over 30 family and friends in attendance.
Lineup update for #PHIvsMIN:
 Carter Hart starts in net.
Nick Deslauriers draws back into the lineup. Bobby Brink comes out.
This decision shows that while Tortorella allows his team to have fun and mess around from time to time nothing is above winning. If the Flyers win tonight it will be interesting to see if the skating train becomes a regular occurrence at practice.
