William Nylander Says Goodbye to Leafs as He Leaves to Play Elsewhere

Following the Maple Leafs embarrassing loss at the hands of Florida last night, William Nylander said his goodbyes and left. The Swedish winger boarded a plane and headed overseas, where the IIHF Mens World Championship is happening right now.
Nylander to Represent Sweden
Early reports indicated that the sudden departure wasn't anything personal, but rather due to Nylander's desire to play for his home country in the current world championships. Nylander's brother, Alex, is also playing for team Sweden, and this will provide a rare opportunity for the two to play together.
It was originally reported by Swedish insider Miika Lahtinen, who tweeted the following.
William Nylander, who scored 40 goals and 87 power points in the NHL this season, arrives to strengthen Sweden's World Cup team.
This is great news for Leafs fans, who will continue to watch one of their favortie players play!
