This evening the NHL seems to have made an official decision regarding potential punishment handed down to Rangers rookie Matt Rempe.

NHL Makes An Official Decision On Rookie Rempe's Suspension

Last night in a game against the Toronto Maple Leafs a questionable hit occurred when New York Rangers rookie Matt Rempe hammered an opponent into the boards.

The Maple Leafs player Ilya Lyubushkin left the game with an injury and did not return. The hit caused major discussion about the intent from Rempe and whether he deserved any suspension or fine. Today the NHL made a decision regarding this matter.

The NHL declined to request Matt Rempe to see the Department of Player Safety. This means there is no suspension or fine likely coming to Rempe.

The NHL now will have to answer for why they at least did not have a hearing with Rempe over the incident. Many believe that Matt Rempe has been reckless since being called up and this type of reaction could encourage his actions.

If there are any further developments on this situation we will pass them along to you.
