BREAKING: Insider Confirms The Next Two Expansion Teams Expected To Join The NHL
A report from an NHL insider has revealed which two cities are expected to be the next two to gain an NHL team. The insider believes expansion is once again on the horizon.
Insider Confirms Which Two Cities Will Get An Expansion Team Next
NHL insider Dave Pagnotta spoke about expansion recently. He admitted that things have been quiet on the expansion front recently. However, he expects this to change soon and two new cities to be announced with an expansion bid. Pagnotta believes both Atlanta and Salt Lake City will officially move forward with expansion early next season.
It's been a bit quieter on the expansion chatter lately, because of the deadline, but it's sounding like there's continued progress towards Atlanta 3.0 and word of a proposed arena district seems to have Sept/Oct timeline. Utah 33. Atlanta 34.
The reason for the delay is the construction of the arena in Atlanta. Once the arena is closer to completion it sounds as though things will be made official. With this in mind, these teams would likely not begin competing until at least 2025-26 but more likely 2026-27.
As more information is provided on potential expansion we will pass it along to you.
