Former NHLer Max Friberg violently collided with his own teammate which made him spin in the air and land awkwardly, completely knocking him out.

What a brutal hit Max Friberg suffered from his own teammate, just awful luck for the poor Swede.

Max Friberg is a former NHL player, having had short stints in the league, while currently playing for Frolunda HC of the Swedish Hockey League, a team he joined in 2017 and captains.

During one of the matches against Vaxjo Lakers, he was involved in a heavy crash with one of his teammates. He fell and hit the back of his head on the floor.

Amazingly enough, however, his first assistant on the ice wasn't one of his team members but an opponent. Friberg seemed to lose consciousness for some seconds and looked very disoriented while being assisted to leave the ice.

Friberg's legs were unsteady and dazed as he made his way down the tunnel, as you can see through footage of the incident.

A later update from Friberg's coach indicated he was awake and did not require an ambulance, but as might be expected, he was done for the night.

A fifth-round pick by the Anaheim Ducks at the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, things started off fairly promising for Friberg.

He did see playing time with both the Norfolk Admirals and St. John's IceCaps of the AHL but saw the ice for just six games in the NHL, all with Anaheim.

Luckily, Friberg did not need emergency medical transport after such a scary fall, but even so, it is hard to imagine him back in action anytime soon for Frolunda.

"He is not playable in the third but he is up on his feet. There is no danger, it's not an ambulance. But he can't play."

Friberg has quite the international resume, winning gold with Team Sweden at the 2012 WJC and bronze with Team Sweden at the 2024 World Championships.

We would like to wish him a very speedy recovery and hope that he doesn't suffer any further setbacks as a result of this.
