Today this was the case for former Winnipeg Jet Mikhail Berdin who signed with Avangard Omsk in the KHL. This will be Mikhail Berdin's third season in the KHL after leaving the Winnipeg Jets when he originally signed with HK Sochi.

As you can see Mikhail Berdin is known for not being afraid to get physical with opponents. Last season while playing in the KHL he dropped the gloves with a skater. He is also known for puck-carrying and even scoring the occasional goal as well scoring both in the KHL and his days back in the USHL before being drafted.
With this signing, Avangard will be gaining both a good goaltender and an electric personality to their team. At just 26 years old if Mikhail Berdin can find success again in the KHL he could potentially earn his way back to the NHL in the future.
