Matt Rempe has quickly become a fan favorite for his willingness to fight but a retired enforcer has a concerning message for him.

Nilan Sends A Message To Rempe

Since entering the NHL last month, Matt Rempe has quickly become a household name with his willingness to drop the gloves versus anybody. While this is great for the rookie, many have begun to worry about his health and ability to stay in the NHL long-term.

Recently, retired NHL enforcer Chris Nilan sent a message to Rempe which has raised eyebrows amongst the hockey community.

"This kid, I love his willingness and all that stuff, but he has bad technique. He leaves himself wide open and he's going to get hurt again... I don't know if anybody is working with him... but he needs some help. It's great to be willing but if you're seeing Tweety Birds out there every fight that's not a good thing." - Chris Nilan

If anybody can comment on Rempe's fighting ability it is Nilan as he registered over 3,000 PIMs in less than 700 NHL games over the course of his 13-year career.

Rempe will likely work on improving his fighting skills this offseason with a legit coach and could potentially become one of the most feared enforcers if he gets just a bit to technique to pair with his impressive size.
