The NHL finally announced a massive suspension for Matt Rempe after he landed one of the dirtiest hits of his career earlier this week.

On Thursday, the New York Rangers young enforcer Matt Rempe was once again ejected from a game for a questionable hit.

He landed a dangerous, vicious hit on Dallas Stars defenseman Miro Heiskanen.

Rempe came at full speed while the star defenseman was standing near the boards. He strongly shoved Heiskanen on the boards, who fell on the ice and remained down for a while.

Check out the hit here:

In only 22 career games in the NHL, he was ejected four times and logged 94 penalty minutes.

Yesterday, the NHL's Department of Player Safety revealed that Rempe would have a suspension hearing on Sunday for what he did, meaning he should be suspended for more than five games:

In breaking news, the DoPS finally revealed Rempe's fate.

In a post on X, it was confirmed that Rempe will serve a 8-game suspension.

Here's the official announcement from the DoPS:

Rempe is only 22 years old, but built an impressive reputation in the NHL, only a year after making his Rangers debut.

In five games this season, he hasn't scored a point and tallied 24 penalty minutes.

It'll be interesting if he continues on that path. If he does, could NHL fans start to turn against him? If he keeps injuring his opponents, he could soon become one of the most hated players in the League.

If he learns to channel that physicality, he could become a threat to his opponents, while minimizing the risks of hurting his team with a suspension.
