The NHL legend Chris Pronger blasted Team Canada after their latest failure at the World Junior Championship.

The 2025 edition of Team Canada hasn't delivered up to the country's standards in the World Junior Championship. Going into the quarter-finals, the team had a 2-0-1-1 record and was eliminated for the second straight year to Czechia.

After the loss, a massive wave of criticism hit the whole organization. Even the former NHLer Chris Pronger expressed dissatisfaction about the program and went on to talk about the true issue within the organization: the lack of culture.

Here's what he said:

"I guess the next question is where do we go from here? The days of countries being nervous and afraid to play Canada are gone. Swagger gone. They actually look forward to playing Canada now. IMO that needs to change. Canadian hockey is missing an identity."

Pronger, who retired from the NHL in 2012, knows many things about having success on the international scene.

The Stanley Cup champion and NHL Hall of Fame member took part in four Olympic Games and won three gold medals for Canada.

According to him, head coach Dave Cameron must take the blame, as he could've done something to prevent this from happening.

On X, a fan raised the idea that Cameron couldn't have done anything differently, and Pronger replied:

"Ummm that was not a very good answer. Of course, there was something he could do!"

Maybe a guy like Pronger could be a great asset for the program in Canada. He knows what it takes to win, and has the experience to bring success back into the organization.

In the coming years, with the Four-Nation Face-Off and the 2026 Olympics nearing, players such as Sidney Crosby, Nathan MacKinnon, and Connor McDavid will get a chance to bring Canada on the winning side once again.
