Canucks defenseman Nikita Zadorov laid a vicious hit on Golden Knights forward Brett Howden last night which resulted in his ejection which has yielded a mixed bag of reactions.

Late in the first period of last night's game between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Vancouver Canucks, Nikita Zadorov and Brett Howden went hard into the boards on a brutal play.

Nikita Zadorov is given a 5-minute major and a game misconduct for boarding

The hit has received mixed reactions as some felt that the hit was dirty in nature while others pointed out how Howden turned at the last second when Zadorov had already committed to the hit.

Howden turns last second smh, if he kept going straight it's a clean hit

this deserves an in person hearing. At least 5 games.

Earlier this year, Zadorov was traded from the Calgary Flames to the Vancouver Canucks. With the Canucks he has been solid bringing a physical presence but hits that lead to ejections wind up hurting his team more than the other.

Howden on the other hand has been with the Vegas Golden Knights for the majority of his career after playing the first 2 seasons of his career with the New York Rangers. While his numbers are not eye-popping, he brings a full 200-foot game that is valuable in any bottom six in the NHL.

All in all, the hit Zadorov laid on Howden cold be perceived in different ways and we will know today if Zadorov will be suspended for his actions.
