Major refereeing controversy emerges ahead of game five of the Stanley Cup Final
Ahead of game five of the Stanley Cup Final, the referees were announced and fans were not happy with who the NHL chose to call tonight's game in Florida.
Tonight the Florida Panthers have an opportunity to take home the Stanley Cup on home ice as they face off against the Edmonton Oilers in game five with a 3-1 lead in the series.
The referees were announced to be Dan O'Rourke and Steve Kozari and fans are quite upset with this pairing for the biggest games of the season.
Refs for @EdmontonOilers @FlaPanthers are Dan O'Rourke (#9) and Steve Kozari (#40). Tonight's officials:
Fans are livid as the Panthers are undefeated this year when O'Rourke calls one of their games and 4-1 while Kozari calls a Panthers game while the Oilers are winless in all of their games called by either referee.
Edmonton is 0-5 when O'Rourke refs
Edmonton is 0-4 when Kozari refs
Florida is 5-0 when O'Rourke refs
Florida is 4-1 when Kozari refs
Hopefully, the referees do not have an impact on tonight's game and we get a properly officiated game but with near opposite records with these two refereeing, the Panthers look like they have the upper hand.
