The Boston Bruins have a need for experience in their forward group, and now GM Don Sweeney is targeting two intriguing names on PTO's.

After a disappointing end to their Stanley Cup Playoff dreams a year ago, the Boston Bruins have made some big moves this summer, with the shock departure of Linus Ullmark along with the additions of both Elias Lindholm and Nikita Zadorov. While those are good names to get, they still have a major need up front, and now it has been revealed by a Bruins reporter that the team are highly considering bringing in both Blake Wheeler and Kailer Yamamoto.

At 37-years of age, Wheeler would bring plenty of experience to this Bruins roster, and while he played in just 54 games a year ago with the Rangers, he was still productive over that time with 9 goals and 21 points. As for Yamamoto, he is yet to establish himself in a specific role in the NHL, as he has failed to capitalize on the career high 41 points he posted in Edmonton back in the 2021/22 season.

Some fans certainly aren't huge supporters of either move for the Bruins, but with the team relying on way too many young names to find their footing at the NHL level, bringing in veterans on cheap PTO's makes perfect sense, so we will wait and see how these intriguing moves develop ahead of training camp in Boston.
