Patrick Kane and the Detroit Red Wings had a fun 2023-24 season, but after falling short, Showtime has addressed the fans.
One of the biggest stories in the NHL this past summer was the free agency saga of Patrick Kane, and while many speculated he was looking for a long-term deal, the veteran star landed in Detroit on a one-year deal. He would end up being a major boost for this team, but they unfortunately fell short of the playoffs, and now he's addressed the season and the fans in a post on social media;
Thank you Red Wings, my teammates, coaches and all the fans of Hockey Town for welcoming me and my family with open arms this season. This past year gave us memories we'll never forget. The work doesn't stop. #LGRW
The future of the Red Wings is incredibly bright, with Lucas Raymond, Dylan Larkin and Moritz Seider among the players that will lead the way going forward, but at 36-years of age, it's unclear whether or not Kane would like to return in 2024-25. With 20 goals and 47 points in 50 games played, it's clear that Kane still has plenty of gas left in the tank, and while he's seemingly very positive about the organization and the city of Detroit, he could end up anywhere this upcoming summer as a free agent.
