Washington Capitals Head Coach critiques Alex Ovechkin's play
After going down 2-0 in the series, the Washington Capitals are looking to avoid the sweep heading back home for game 3. Now, head coach Spencer Carbery is calling on Alex Ovechkin to improve his game.
The New York Rangers are heavy favourites to win the series against the Washington Capitals, as the Caps barely found their way into the postseason this year. However, no one really expects the Rangers to sweep the Caps, as that is one of the harder things to do in the NHL playoffs.
Now, after losing both games in New York, Capitals Head Coach Spencer Carbery is calling out his captain and superstar Alex Ovechkin, saying that he hasn't been himself in the first two games, and hopes that the return home will help with matchups.
«I thought the first two games he looked a little off. He's struggling. It's hard. It's the playoffs, on the road, it's a tough matchup. We're back home, now we can control the matchup for him. He can flip it in a heartbeat and be a difference maker»
The Washington Capitals don't have many series left with their superstar, as 38-year-old Ovechkin has a potential retirement looming in the not-so-distant future. The Caps need to take advantage of every game in the post-season they can get with him, even if they are the underdogs in the series.
We will see if Ovi can turn it on in front of the Washington Capitals faithful in game 3.
