Corey Perry explodes on Evander Kane in argument on Oilers bench
With the playoffs around the corner, the Oilers look to be struggling with their team chemistry, as Evander Kane and Corey Perry got into a heated argument on the bench during their game last night.
The last thing the Edmonton Oilers need at this point in their season is drama. They had enough of that at the start of the year, with their terrible start and the firing of their head coach. With that behind them, they appear to be in a good position to make a run in the post-season, however, that depends on how their team chemistry is.
A recent video caught Evander Kane and Corey Perry going at each other on the Edmonton Oilers bench, with Corey Perry blowing up in frustration. Kevin Bieksa pointed out that this was likely due to a lazy play earlier in their shift.
here's more on the corey perry and evander kane argument. as kevin bieksa speculates here, it looks like perry was upset about a lazy turnover down low by kane.
Evander Kane has been in the middle of a few spats on the Oilers bench recently.
There has been speculation for some time that Evander Kane doesn't have the best locker room presence, and this along with another recent spat between Kane and Draisaitl, doesn't do him any favours in that department.
If the Oilers are serious about making a long run into the playoffs, everyone will have to be on the same page moving forward. What is good, though, is that there is clearly a high standard in the Oilers organization that players are willing to hold each other accountable.
