The New York Rangers are reportedly shopping their captain Jacob Trouba and now details have leaked to the public involving him and the Red Wings.

Today is day two of the NHL draft and massive news dropped early this morning showing details of a potential Jacob Trouba trade involving the Rangers and the Detroit Red Wings.

«Indeed, a well-placed source has told The Post that #NYR GM Chris Drury is working on a deal to send the captain (Trouba) to #LGRW, a trade that the Michigan native would presumably accept after having played as a freshman for the Wolverines in 2012-13.»

It is likely that the Rangers will be retaining on Trouba's remaining two years.

Trouba to Detroit at 5.5m AAV. With 2.5m retained for 2 more years I wonder what the return will be. Is it a pure cap dump, or is there still value to the contract? #NYR

Trouba currently has a full no-movement clause but on July 1, he will have a modified no-trade clause which allows him to submit a 15-team no-trade list which Detroit is believed to not be on.

We will now watch closely to see when a trade is made over the coming days if not hours.
