Carolina Hurricanes and Chicago Blackhawks complete a trade during the draft
The Carolina Hurricanes and Chicago Blackhawks completed a trade during the first round of the 2024 NHL Draft.
In breaking news, the Blackhawks acquired the 27th overall pick for the 34th and 50th picks in 2024.

With the 27th overall, the Hawks drafted Marek Vanacker:
The Blackhawks added a lot of talent to their organization in the first round of the draft.
With the 2nd overall pick, they selected the promising defenseman Artyom Levshunov:
Later, with the 18th overall pick, they drafted Sacha Boisvert:
With Vanacker, Boisvert, Levshunov, and five pick remaining for the other rounds, they'll be interesting to follow as we get closer to July 1st.
In a few seasons, the Blackhawks will find themselves with many first round picks on their roster, and should be one of the most dynamic teams in the league.
