St. Louis Blues lose star defenseman Torey Krug after season-ending surgery
Season-ending ankle surgery will keep Torey Krug out of the St. Louis Blues lineup for likely the entire season ahead, which is very unfortunate for the team.
The St. Louis Blues announced Monday that defenceman Torey Krug will miss the entire 2024-25 season as he prepares to undergo surgery on his left ankle. The surgery is being done to address pre-arthritic changes not improved with the use of non-surgical treatments.
Torey Krug is 33 and was originally signed as a free agent by the Blues in October 2020 and has been a great presence for the team since. The Livonia, Michigan, native played in 77 games last season, scoring 39 points, by way of four goals and 35 assists, and had 32 penalty minutes.
In four seasons with the Blues, Torey Krug has amassed 146 points and 154 penalty minutes in 255 games. Krug has collected 483 points over his entire career, on 89 goals and 394 assists, to go along with 374 penalty minutes in 778 regular-season games.
