Alex Lyon of the Chicago Wolves AHL team was the brick wall that helped his team win the Calder Cup, shutting out the Springfield Thunderbirds in 5 games.

Game 5 just happened to be in Springfield, Massachusetts and while celebrating his victory, he decided to make a gesture to a few fans in the stands. Lyon flipped the bird to a few fans while celebrating in his crease and also gave the finger during the teams post-game photo.

Today the American Hockey League announced that Wolves goaltender Alex Lyon has been suspended for two games due to his actions following the game 5 victory on June 25th.

Lyon's suspension will carry over until next season, or if he is even on an active AHL roster. Lyon is 29 and is a pending UFA in the Carolina Hurricanes organization after finishing a one year two way deal.
