A significant announcement was recently made by the Columbus Blue Jackets, confirming the appointment of Niklas Backstrom as their new Goaltending Coach.
Backstrom's Impressive Track Record
Backstrom boasts an accomplished NHL career, which spanned ten seasons from 2006 to 2016. During this time, he donned the jerseys of the Minnesota Wild and Calgary Flames. Throughout his 413 games, the now 45-year-old goalie held an exceptional record of 196-144-50. Moreover, he boasted a .914 save percentage (SV%) and a goals-against average (GAA) of 2.49, along with 28 shutouts.
