BREAKING: Five Teams Officially Change Leagues Due To Financial Hardship
In breaking news, five teams from this league had to officially change leagues due to financial hardships they faced.
Five Teams Join the BCHL From the AJHL
It's not every day that new teams are added to any hockey league, yet today isn't one of those days. It was announced today that 5 teams will be joining the BCHL from the AJHL.
I'm hearing that 5 #AJHL teams: the Brooks Bandits, Spruce Grove Saints, Okotoks Oilers, Sherwood Park Crusaders, and Blackfalds Bulldogs have all been accepted into the #BCHL for next season.
This will mean that these 5 teams will be effectively out of the Alberta Junior Hockey League, and will play in the British Columbia Hockey League, which is not sanctioned by the Canadian Junior Hockey League.
The BCHL has the aim of becoming one of the best junior leagues for players wishing to pursue scholarships at the university level in the NCAA and in Canadian U-Sports.
We await further details on the move as they are released.
