Canadian pop star Tate McRae has been an unofficial brand ambassador for the NHL for some time. As such, it should come as no surprise that she has had a relationship with an NHL player. However, one might be surprised to find out that the player involved was none other than Blue Jackets forward Cole Sillinger. Furthermore, he was apparently unfaithful to her during their relationship.



One would imagine that Sillinger would be faithful given who his partner was and the fact that both people involved are publicly known. Surely he knew this would come out at some point. Regardless, he paid the price for it.

NHL To Make Tate McRae Official Brand Ambassador?

McRae has been seen in the past being involved in sponsored content with the NHL. For a league that is struggling to grow in terms of popularity, it makes a lot of sense that the league could work with her to help promote the sport.



McRae would potentially be especially effective in helping grow the game with younger audiences. We have already seen how Taylor Swift has helped boost the NFL's image as she continues her relationship with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. While McRae is not nearly as popular as Swift, we could see a similar effect take place with the NHL should the league lean into it.
