Cam Atkinson joined the Flyers last season in a trade from Columbus for fan favourite Jacob Voracek. He scored 23 goals and 50 points last season on a losing Flyers team. One of the most underrated players in the NHL, you can almost always peg this guy in for 20+ goals and 40+ points every year.
Atkinson has missed all of this season so far with an injury, but reports coming last week made it sound like he was trending towards a return:

But news today is now coming out that Atkinson is being shut down for the season and undergoing surgery.
Being reported by Anthony SanFilippo, a writer for CrossingBroad.com, Atkinson is being shut down for the season due to a non-orthopedic medical procedure.
Multiple reports out there, @AntSanPhilly was first, indicate that former #CBJ Cam Atkinson could be done for the season, if not longer.
No word from him or the Flyers yet. But obviously a tough situation as he was trying to work his way back.
Stay tuned for official updates. Mark Scheig (@mark_scheig) December 19, 2022
