Players have legit weapons strapped to their feet in this game and earlier in the NHL season we saw Evander Kane have to undergo surgery after taking a skate to the wrist, which has now kept him out awhile.
Now in a Hockey tournament in Russia this past weekend, a 15 year old goaltender had his neck sliced open with a skate blade. According to Sport24.ru, this young goaltender was playing in the championship game in a hockey tournament when the incident occurred, forcing him to be rushed to the hospital to undergo surgery to repair the gash.

Thankfully, the report also states that the boy is awake and in a stable condition. He is still being monitored in an intensive care unit, but this had the potential to be much worse.
On behalf of House of Hockey, we are sending our prayers that think young man makes a full recovery!
